Who We Are
The Low Port Centre provides community space to Linlithgow and the surrounding area to help people meet their own needs and aspirations. LPC is a collective of like minded charities and businesses who all live under the same roof to improve the world around them.
It all started when a local church, St John's Linlithgow, was looking for a permanent HOME for the Church family. A local councillor made the church aware of a council property, the Low Port Education Centre, which could potentially be available as a Community Asset Transfer. A community asset transfer is when a local authority gives a community group a property for £1 in exchange for community benefit.
The Church quickly realised that as this is a large centre they couldn’t do this alone and needed lots of different organisations to call it HOME. St John’s Church then created an independent charity called the Low Port Centre to host the party.
All charities and businesses who call the Low Port Centre HOME sign up to the code of conduct ensuring that they uphold the values and ethos of the Low Port Centre.
The Low Port Centre is
A welcoming place for all, inspiring community, wellbeing and creativity in and around Linlithgow.

Primarily this building is a Home for the community, where everyone can belong. It is accessible to all, where people are respected and is, as the motto of Linlithgow states, ‘kind to strangers’.
Health
This is a place to enhance mental, physical, and spiritual wellness for individuals and, through shared space and activities, to encourage life-giving connections.
Hope
We aim to foster a positive and optimistic environment here, nurturing kindness, acceptance and growth.

Support the Low Port Centre
The Low Port Centre is powered by our partners and the community of Linlithgow to create a sustainable community hub. Partners paying their way and individuals giving generously make it possible for the Low Port Centre to be a HOME for everyone.
Work is also well underway with the planning of the second phase of the project which is the refurbishment of the accommodation wing which will unlock so many opportunities for the centre. We’ll be able to host conferences and groups from all around the country.
